The number of bars across the top of each fireplace grate varies by the size of the grate. See the chart below for the dimensions of the fireplace grates, the size of the
bar stock for each fireplace grate, and the number of top bars on each fireplace grate.
Because the strength and life of a fireplace grate is directly proportional to the amount of steel along the bar's diagonal, the grates below constructed of 3/4" will last longer than those constructed from the 5/8" bar stock.
