Glass Details for Custom Glass Firescreen:
All custom single panel glass firescreens are 3/16" thick tempered glass, the type of glass used on fireplace doors. It is specially treated to withstand
constant heat up to 470 degrees F and is appropriate to use within 4 inches of direct flame for wood burning, pellet, gel and gas fireplaces.
All outside edges of the custom glass firescreens have a slightly rounded shape and are polished to a glossy finish.
You can specify the dimensions of your custom glass firescreen within 1/4 of an inch! Your custom glass will be created within 1/8 inch of tolerance of the
dimensions you specify. There is no extra charge for this custom sizing!
A maximum width or height for the glass is 48 inches. One stainless steel base can accommodate glass firescreens of up to 1120 square inches, so the
width multiplied by the height of your firescreen glass cannot exceed 1120 square inches* without incurring an Oversized Glass Charge.
[As an example, since 24 x 44 = 1056, a glass firescreen 24 inches tall by 44 inches wide is less than 1120 inches, so it will work with one stainless steel base.]
* OVERSIZED GLASS NOTE: If you would like a custom glass firescreen with an area of more than 1120 square inches (up to a maximum of 2304
square inches,) there is an additional Oversized Glass Charge of $250, and you will also need an additional Stainless Steel Base ($600) to support the
oversized glass. Call us for assistance at 888-834-7375.
If you select a Square or Rectangular Custom Glass Firescreen, it will have very slightly rounded corners for
your safety. The corners will have a
half-inch radius curve, about as much as the edge of one-fourth of a quarter. You can specify the width and the height of the glass firecreen
you need.
If you select an Oval Racetrack Custom Glass Firescreen, the ends will be perfectly rounded (with a radius half of the firescreen height.) There will be straight edges along the
top and bottom of the glass. You can specify the width and the height of your Oval Racetrack Custom Glass
Firescreen.
If you want an Arch Topped Square or Rectangular Custom Glass Firescreen, you can specify the amount of the arch. Simply specify
the desired height at the top of the arch, the desired height at the sides, and the desired overall width.
All Custom Modern, Single Panel Glass Firescreens will have three small holes custom drilled across the middle of the bottom through which
screws will attach the Peter Maly Stainless Steel Base. The screws will arrive with the base.
The stainless steel base and the custom tempered glass firescreen will ship and arrive separately; the
base will arrive in 2 to 3 weeks and the
glass will arrive in 5 to 7 business days.
