- Regardless of the pitch you select to top your Designer Lid Outside Mount Chimney Cap, you can also specify the lid overhang on all sides. Three inches is a
standard lid overhang, but yours could be larger or smaller, as you prefer.

- The base or skirt of the Designer Lid Stainless Steel Outside Mount Chimney Caps is constructed of 18 guage stainless steel, and you can specify both the horizontal skirt width (how far in from the outer edge of the mesh screening will be) and the vertical skirt height (how far down the chimney the skirt goes.) The standard
horizontal skirt width is 2 inches and the standard vertical skirt height is 3 inches.
- The mesh screening, which should be at least 5 inches taller than your tallest flue with a recommended 8 inch minimum
, is constructed of 18 gauge stainless steel. Specify the screen height
you want for your Custom Stainless Steel Outside Mount Designer Lid Chimeny Cap up to 24 inches tall .
- Is the top of the cement part around your flues
 (the crown) more than an inch above  the chimney bricks? If so, you will need an elevation between the top edge of the vertical skirt and the bottom of the screen mesh.
The image at the left shows a standard, flat horizontal skirt. Unless you specify an elevation , your Custom Stainless Steel Outside
Mount Designer Lid Chimney Cap will be made with the standard, flat horizontal skirt with no elevational rise.
To the right, above, is a horizontal skirt with an elevation.
The dotted brown line represents the number of inches your elevation might need to be. It is the height
from where the bottom of the mesh screen will be to the top of the first row of chimney bricks.
- Your choice of either standard 3/4 inch stainless mesh screening or, for California or
other wildfire prone areas, 5/8 inch stainless mesh screening on a stainless steel stainless steel designer lid custom outside mount chimney cap..
- Easy to attach with the included tapcon drill bit and tapcon screws. Or, if you
prefer, designer lid stainless steel outside mount chimney caps can attached with discontinuous beads of chimney cap adhesive.
- Custom Designer Lid Outside Mount Chimney Caps have a natural brushed stainless steel finish. If you prefer, yours can be painted with a baked

The baked-on color finish, which itself has a limited warranty, is not recommended for flues that vent oil.
 
- Your custom brushed stainless steel finish designer lid outside mount chimney cap
ships 3 weeks or less. Allow 2 additional weeks for powdercoating in Standard Black or Old Penny Copper Brown. Other paint colors can take longer.

Chimneys thenselves are individually made, so all outside mount chimney caps must be
custom made to fit each chimney. To measure outside dimensions for a custom stainless steel outside mount chimney capwith a designer lid, we recommend using
a metal measuring tape or metal yardstick. First, measure the longest side of your chimney. Then, in a clockwise direction, measure each side in sequence.
Provide us with your exact measurements and your stainless steel designer lid outside mount chimney cap will be built with a 3/16 inch tolerance
on each side. Please measure carefully; as an item custom made to your specifications, an outside mount chimney cap cannot be returned for a refund.
